Beijing was the first Asian city of the four that were scheduled – Tianjin, Shenzhen and Chongqing – where they could taste the wines of our Winery during the last week of August 2019. Together with other Uruguayan wineries, we had the possibility to participate in the called “Uruguay Week in China” organized by Uruguay XXI and the Uruguayan Embassy located in that country.

We present our most praised blend by the wine specialist, “Tannat-Merlot”, a successful combination that led us to receive 88 points and be recommended in the shopping guide by The Wine Enthusiast, the prestigious American magazine, specialized in the wine sector. A pride for Hacienda del Sacramento, which has obtained a very good score in its first year of harvest and wine making for the world.

Additionally, the best wine magazine in the world, Decanter has commended us in its 2019 awards, so under our slogan The wine of Uruguay we seek to be a reference abroad and proudly bring our Uruguayan wines where we are present. This is how we arrived in Mexico and the United States, where our products are currently sold in boutique wine shops, first-line hotels, restaurants and grills.

We are constantly looking for new markets, so we started to participate in Russia and China, without ruling out other new horizons.

2017 was the great year, we made the first export to Mexico City, and through tastings in several cities we were able to enter the market and present the wines (Tannat, Tannat-Merlot, Merlot and Pinot Noir Rosé) at local fairs and events. Also thanks to a note published by a local magazine in the city of Hiuxquilucan, more people met the Winery. Then came 2018, our second export but to another new country and this time it went to the United States, our “Tannat-Merlot” has been tasted in several events of the Uruguayan Embassy in Miami, Florida and in Mexico City. Currently we sell more varieties among them, the Tannat (emblem of Uruguay), Merlot and Pinot Noir Rosé. The latter with very good acceptance in the young public over 20 years in the United States.

This tour has just begun for us, as we began to harvest the first grapes in 2016 and we had the pleasure of having our wines present at international fairs such as Dusseldorf (Germany), London (England), Bordeaux (France) and São Paulo (Brazil).

This blends of strains, with which we made ourselves known in the market, was born after several and extensive meetings because we wanted to show the consumer a wine that represents the terroir of the area of Colonia, which has a long winemaking tradition. That is why if you have not tried it yet, we invite you to do so, since Tannat-Merlot, our bi-varietal is traveling around The World.
